The China government has approved integrated rail transit plans in 17 cities and more than 40 cities are preparing for approval. Of these 17 cities, 65 metro lines are scheduled for completion before 2015. Total Investment will reach 675.5 billion.?

Before 2015, 1700 km of city rail will be constructed with an investment of 600 billion. Beijing and Guangzhou will invest 50 billion in the construction of new lines and Shanghai will invest more than 140 billion within the next 5 years to meet city expansion targets.

Currently, more than 10 of the 17 cities have built a 600 km city rail transit network. The expansion of existing lines will reach more than 800 km in total.
